WILDLIFE Wildlife at Anedodi is abundant and ever surprising! Being fairly remote and surrounded mainly by large oaks, dogwoods, pine, and other forest tree varieties, the possibilities are endless! On any given day, you may see armadillos, deer, racoons, turtles, bats, several species of birds including bald eagles, red and gold finches, red and green throated hummingbirds, red cardinals, scissortails, swallows, nuthatchers, red headed and peliated woodpeckers, heron, even the rare whipperwill - a nocturnal bird who sings at night!  Definitely a bird watchers paradise! Feel free to use our house binoculars and guide book to spot all the action. As you stroll the land, you may also notice a large variety of wildflowers, from Queen Anne’s lace, black eyed susans, lance-leaved coreopsis, indian paintbrush, and many more depending on the season. In addition, the local highways have been included in a system of Wildflower Routes to showcase existing wildflower populations.  Maintenance practices along these routes allow annual and perennial wildflowers to prosper and return year after year. Arkansas state has also re-introduced elk and buffalo to the Buffalo National River plains. Every day is an adventure at Anedodi, you never know what you might find, so get out there and explore!
